Real Madrid Transfer News Roundup: Spanish midfielder wants to stay, Endrick backed to excel with Los Blancos, and more - July 31, 2024
Real Madrid have already strengthened their squad by roping in Kylian Mbappe and Endrick this summer. However, Carlo Ancelotti remains in the market for further additions to his roster.
Meanwhile, a Spanish midfielder is planning to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu. Elsewhere, Endrick has been backed to excel with Los Blancos.
On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from July 31, 2024.
Dani Ceballos wants to stay at Santiago Bernabeu
Dani Ceballos wants to stay and fight for his place at Real Madrid, according to MARCA. The Spanish midfielder struggled for chances last season, registering just 27 appearances, most of which were from the bench.
Ceballos is under contract with Los Blancos until 2027, but remains heavily linked with an exit this summer. The 27-year-old could be tempted to leave in search of regular football, but it appears that he has decided to stay.
Despite Toni Kroos' departure this summer, there is intense competition for place in Carlo Ancelotti's squad. The La Liga giants are also linked with midfield reinforcement this summer, which could further add to the melee.
However, Ceballos remains confident about wrestling his way back into the team. Real Madrid are not actively looking to let him go, so they will be pleased with his decision as well.
Endrick backed to excel with Real Madrid by former player
Brazil icon Marcos Assuncao has backed Endrick to succeed at Real Madrid. The 18-year-old arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer with a huge reputation.
Los Blancos always have their eyes out for the biggest talents of the land and Endrick is their latest addition. The Brazilian prodigy joins an already impressive array of attacking talents at the Santiago Bernabeu, including Kylian Mbappe.
Speaking recently, as cited by Madrid Universal, Assuncao was full of praise for his countryman.
“In other cases, I would say no, because young Brazilians go to Europe too early, but in Endrick’s case I think so (he will succeed at Real Madrid). The big difference is that he has a winning mentality. And that he is going to join the most successful club in the world,” said Assuncao.
He added:
“Madrid is the best team that exists and just getting there means you are a champion. He is already a star, at 16 years old he was already the protagonist in Palmeiras, but now he must adapt to the culture of European football.”
Assuncao went on to point out that Endrick will learn a lot by training with some of the biggest names in football at Real Madrid.
“Just by training with those players, he will already learn a lot. Who can boast of training with football players of that world class? It’s a privilege,” said Assuncao.
He continued:
“He will have everything to grow as a figure. He will need time to adapt because the change is abrupt, but I think that little by little he will have minutes, he will find his space and he will gain the confidence of the coach."
Endrick's arrival raises questions about the future of Rodrygo Goes, who has been linked to Liverpool this summer.
Toni Kroos heaps praise on Arda Guler
Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has spoken highly of Arda Guler. The Turkish teenager has endured a mixed time since joining Los Blancos from Fenerbahce last summer.
However, Guler made a name for himself at Euro 2024, and is already a wanted man this summer. Recent reports have suggested that AC Milan want to take the player on loan, but the La Liga giants have no desire to let him go. Kroos' departure has already left a gap in the middle of the park and Guler could play a part in helping Real Madrid address the issue.
Speaking to Sky Deutschland, Kroos stated that the teenager's willingness to learn will help him attain success.
“He has a bright future ahead of him if he stays healthy. What makes him different from other young talents is the fact that he is open to the learning process. Ever since he joined the club he paid so much attention to everything we were doing before and after every training session. It’s not easy to find players like that nowadays,” said Kroos.
He continued:
“He really wants to keep learning and improving. His finishing ability and his left foot are amazing, we all noticed it since the very first training session.”
Guler registered six goals from 12 games last season and is under contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2029.
