Real Madrid unlikely to make move for Cristiano Ronaldo's teammate as Al-Nassr are demanding €30m fee for sale - Reports

According to a report by Jose Felix Diaz of MARCA, Real Madrid are unlikely to make a move for Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate, Aymeric Laporte. The defender was tipped with a move to the Spanish capital, but a reported €30 million fee has seen the move cast into doubt.

Laporte was a pivotal part of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City team, helping the team to a European treble and playing 180 games in his five years at the club. He is also a seasoned international with 39 caps and was part of the Spain team that lifted Euro 2024 in Germany this summer.

Los Blancos have put off Laporte's signature due to the fee demanded by Al-Nassr. The former Manchester City star is a key part of the team's plans alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. It was always unlikely that the Saudi side would let him go easily after bringing him in for a reported €27.5 million last year.

"One of the biggest legends in the history of Real Madrid and world football" - When Real Madrid hailed Cristiano Ronaldo for scoring 900 career goals

In September, Real Madrid hailed Cristiano Ronaldo after he became the first player in the history of the sport to score 900 professional goals. The 39-year-old bagged his record-setting goal while on international duty with his country, Portugal, against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.

Ronaldo spent nine years with Los Blancos between 2009 and 2018 after joining from Manchester United in a reported €94 million deal before leaving for Juventus for a reported €117 million. He scored 450 of his 900+ goals for Los Blancos, bagging that return from 438 games.

Taking to social media platform X after the legendary forward wrote his name in the history books, the official club account posted:

"Another historic feat: 900 goals in the professional career of one of the biggest legends in the history of Real Madrid and world football. Congratulations, dear and admired @Cristiano! Real Madrid and the club’s fans are always proud of you."

The Portuguese star has recently expressed his wish to cross the 1000-goal mark. He is in the final year of his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr and has bagged 68 goals in 79 appearances for them since he joined in January 2023.
