Real Madrid want to tie down Bundesliga star to a pre-contract in January to fend away interest from Arsenal and Man City - Reports
According to a report by HITC, Real Madrid look set to fend off Arsenal and Manchester City's interest in Alphonso Davies by offering him a pre-contract in January 2025. The versatile Canadian is in the last year of his contract with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and will be available to talk to foreign clubs in the new year.
Davies has been a key part of the Bayern setup since he arrived at the club in 2019 from the Vancouver White Caps for €14 million. He has played 197 games for the German giants, scoring 11 times and setting up 31 other goals. He has helped the Bavarians to five Bundesliga titles, two DFB Pokal Cups, One UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup.
Davies can play everywhere on the left side of the pitch and his versatility will be a boon to any side interested in his services. Real Madrid will be keen to secure his services at Arsenal and Manchester City's expense and add another piece to their impressive squad.
Real Madrid interested in Arsenal defender - Reports
According to a report from TBR Football, Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Arsenal defender William Saliba. The 23-year-old defender has been impressive for the West Londoners, playing a vital part in making them English Premier League contenders in recent seasons.
The defender joined the club in 2019 from St Ettiene in his native France for €30 million and has gone on to play 86 times for the Gunners. He has contributed five goals to their cause in that time and set up two others to help the London-based club claim two Community Shields.
Saliba is unlikely to come cheap if allowed to leave Arsenal at any point. Transfermarkt value the defender at €80 million at the time of writing. His contract with the club also runs till 2027, giving the Londoners the advantage in any negotiations.
Real Madrid will be keen to bring in defensive reinforcements after missing out on their primary defensive target Leny Yoro to Manchester United this summer. The allure of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu might not be an easy one to resist.
