"Red hot favorites" - Dimitar Berbatov states his prediction for Arsenal vs Leicester City
Former Premier League striker Dimitar Berbatov has tipped Arsenal to edge to a 1-0 win against Leicester City on Sunday. The Gunners were leapfrogged by Manchester United on Saturday as the Red Devils managed to overcome Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 at Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick saw the Red Devils' top-four hopes revitalized following their win against Spurs, meaning Arsenal will be desperate for all three points against Brendan Rodgers' side.
The north London side have enjoyed an excellent run of form of late, winning each of their last four games. Mikel Arteta's side saw off relegation-battling Watford last week by beating the Hornets 3-2 at Vicarage Road.
Berbatov believes that the Gunners should be able to clinch their fifth win in a row at the expense of an inconsistent Leicester City side.
Writing in his column for Metro, Berbatov said: "Arsenal play good football and I like them."
“The goals they scored last time out against Watford were so good, great combination plays."
“I can see them continuing their momentum in this one, they are the red hot favourites for top four now.”
Mikel Arteta had all week to prepare for their game on Sunday against the Foxes and will be keen to reclaim fourth place. They remain in the driver's seat in the top-four race, having played four games fewer than Ralf Rangick's Manchester United.
Leicester City are having a season to forget, having struggled to live up to the expectations set by themselves over the last couple of years. Rodgers' side find themselves 12th in the table with just 33 in 25 games but are in a decent run of form ahead of their trip to the Emirates.
They have won their last four games in all competitions, including two in the Premier League.
Arsenal head into Leicester City clash as favorites
Arsenal have been brilliant in recent weeks and are undoubtedly the favorites against Leicester City on Sunday.
However, the Gunners must be wary of the fact that they have not fared well against the Foxes in recent times, having lost four of their last ten games against the East Midlands club.
Mikel Arteta must ensure that his team does not take Rodgers' side lightly as they have developed an unwanted reputation of losing big games in recent seasons.
