Rio Ferdinand expresses shock as Cristiano Ronaldo announces his next guest on YouTube will ‘break the internet’
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand expressed shock after Cristiano Ronaldo announced that the next guest on his YouTube podcast would ‘break the internet’. The Portuguese ace recently teased an upcoming YouTube video on his channel with a special guest.
Ronaldo claimed that his next guest would cause an internet frenzy. He said (via ESPN on X):
“We are going to break the internet.”
According to SportBible on Instagram, Ferdinand was shocked at the announcement. The former Manchester United star appeared on Ronaldo’s 'UR. Cristiano' channel a couple of months ago. They discussed their time at Manchester United, Ronaldo’s career, and his future.
Ferdinand also has a YouTube channel named Rio Ferdinand Presents. The 46-year-old has had former Manchester United teammates such as Dimitar Berbatov, Nemanja Vidic, and Edwin van der Sar as guests on his channel.
Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, launched his YouTube channel in August to provide fans with exclusive content and personal insights into his life. The channel has since garnered over 66 million followers. Fans will be eager to see who the Al-Nassr star will host next on the channel.
When Cristiano Ronaldo took a dig at Pele’s goalscoring records during an interview with Rio Ferdinand
During an interview with Rio Ferdinand in one of the videos on his YouTube channel, Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to take a dig at Pele’s goalscoring record. The legendary Brazilian forward holds a Guinness World Record of scoring 1,279 goals in 1,363 games.
However, due to a lack of video footage to prove many of his goals, Pele’s numbers have been disputed. Ronaldo expressed his desire to reach 1000 goals in his career in the interaction with Ferdinand. The Portuguese ace added that all his goals would be well documented, seemingly taking a dig at Pele’s goalscoring record.
He said (via YouTube):
"For me, the best milestone that one can reach in football is to reach first at 900 goals. After that, my challenge is to be 1000 goals - with one difference. All the goals that I score, they have videos so I can prove. They all have videos. And if you want more goals, I can bring from the training too. So there's no problem."
Cristiano Ronaldo’s numbers currently stand at 910 goals and 256 assists in 1251 games for club and country.
