Ronaldo Nazario reacts as Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus makes ‘we’re coming’ claim ahead of new Premier League season

Former Real Madrid star Ronaldo Nazario has reacted to Gabriel Jesus' Instagram post ahead of Arsenal's 2024/25 Premier League season. The Gunners finished second in the English top-flight last campaign, just two points short of champions Manchester City.

They will be looking to get over the line this time after having finished second for two consecutive seasons now. The north Londoners have also revealed their away jersey for the year, along with some merchandise.

Posing in the new top, Jesus posted these pictures and wrote in the caption of his Instagram post:

"New kit, new goals, We're coming"

Reacting to the former Manchester City striker's Instagram post, Ronaldo commented with five fire emojis. It's uncertain as to whether the former Brazil international reacted to Jesus' title warning or Arsenal's new away jersey.

Either way, the 27-year-old and his Gunners teammates will be looking to start the new season strong. Going into the campaign, however, Jesus isn't a sure-shot starter, with Kai Havertz likely to play the number nine role.

He suffered from multiple injuries last season and also lost his starting place under Mikel Arteta. Jesus started only 17 Premier League matches, bagging four goals and five assists.

There is an opportunity for the attacker to find a place on the left wing as well, with Gabriel Martinelli failing to lock down that position. Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are battling for minutes on that flank.

Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario correctly predicted the winner of the Premier League last season while speaking in March. With a couple of months of action remaining in the campaign, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City were in a three-way battle for the trophy.

However, the Reds fell away in the coming weeks, eventually finishing nine points behind Pep Guardiola's team. Although the Cityzens' destiny wasn't in their own hands at the time, the 47-year-old told Daily Mail when asked about who would win the title (via Manchester City News):

"City."

Manchester City do have a habit of managing to win the Premier League from difficult positions. After Arsenal spent 248 days on top of the league table during the 2022/23 campaign, the Cityzens pipped them to the title by five points in the end.
