"Ronaldo needs to leave this s**t club for his own good" - Social media explodes as Al-Nassr lose 4-1 to Al-Hilal in Super Cup final

Al-Hilal comfortably defeated rivals Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr to win the Saudi Super Cup at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium on August 17. Despite ending the first half with a 1-0 lead, the Knights of Najd fell apart in the second half. Al-Hilal went on to score four goals to take the trophy away from the canary yellow outfit.

Fans of Al-Nassr expressed their frustration on social media and were vocal about their side's underwhelming performance at the start of the season. Some of the most popular comments on X (formerly Twitter) are as follows:

"Ronaldo needs to leave this s**t club for his own good. Pathetic bottlers," opined one fan on X.

"THEY ARE TERRIBLE," agreed another.
"Literally man their defence is trash," another fan declared.

One fan also talked about the failure of Luis Castro and predicted that the Portuguese would be sacked following the 4-1 beating against Al-Hilal. They commented:

"This could be the end of Luis Castro."
"It’s time to make some big changes otherwise it will be a very very long season," wrote another fan on X.
"He [Cristiano Ronaldo] did everything he can, but they let him down," inferred someone else.

Some of the other comments were as follows:

"Biggest bottle job of all time. Imagine losing 3 finals in a row in the easiest league in the world," noted one fan.
"He will be back and we know it," argued another fan.
"The problem is with coach Luis Castro, the failed coach of Al-Nassr, who saw the team collapse defensively and did not change the players until Al-Hilal scored the fourth goal due to a mistake by goalkeeper Pinto," inferred a fan on X.

Cristiano Ronaldo's efforts in the first half went in vain as Al-Hilal flipped the game on its head within a span of just 17 minutes in the second half. Ronaldo gave the Knights of Najd the lead in the 44th minute after a tense start by both teams.

Substitute Abdulrahman Ghareeb dribbled his way towards the corner touchline from then left and provided the veteran with an inch-perfect cross. The Portuguese made no error in slotting the ball past the goalkeeper and into the Al-Hilal net.

However, the momentum completely shifted in the second half, and Sergej Milinković-Savić opened the scoring for the blue outfit in the 55th minute. This was followed by two goals within six minutes by Aleksandar Mitrović before Malcom finally made it 4-1 in the 72nd minute.

With this victory, Al-Hilal sealed their first trophy of the season and Cristiano Ronaldo's trophy drought with his club continued. The Knights of Najd will face Al-Raed in the Saudi Pro League season opener on August 22 at the Al-Awwal Stadium.
