Ruben Amorim confirms major change for Manchester United players after Gary Neville rant

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has insisted that he won't allow players to leave for extra holidays during international breaks. The former Sporting manager took charge at Old Trafford on November 11, and has been tasked with getting the Red Devils back to the top.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville recently questioned Marcus Rashford and Casemiro for going on personal trips to the US during the international break.

Speaking to Neville in a recent interview on Sky Sports, Amorim said it was unfair to criticize the duo for the episode.

“Would I set a different structure? Yes, for sure. But we cannot put this on the players. They told them they have five days off so they can fly anywhere. Because nobody in the club says you cannot fly. So we cannot, this time, put that on Rash or Case,” said Amorim

He continued:

“Us as a club have to set the standards and have to manage that. It’s my decision if they can have five days, or three days, or three days to rest and you cannot fly. This is something that us as a club have to decide. So this must be started in the club, with us and me being responsible in that area.”

Marcus Rashford and Casemiro could both be in Amorim's starting XI for the game against Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 24, in the Premier League.

Manchester United have faced Ipswich Town 57 times in their history and have won 29 games so far. The first meeting between the two clubs was in the 1958 FA Cup tie, which the Red Devils won 2-0.

Since then, the East Anglian club have won 19 times against Manchester United, with their most recent victory coming in 1997. That year, Ipswich Town stunned Sir Alex Ferguson's side with a 2-0 victory in the League Cup.

The last time the tie ended in a draw was in August 2000, when David Beckham salvaged a point in a 1-1 draw. Since then, however, the Red Devils have had the upper hand.

Manchester United have won the last four games against Ipswich Town across competitions. That includes a 3-0 EFL Cup win in 2015 in their last meeting, when Wayne Rooney, Andreas Pereira, and Anthony Martial scored the goals.
