“Ruined us tonight”, “Very stupid” - Fans blame 2 Barcelona stars after they blow 2-0 lead to share draw with Celta Vigo
Fans have taken to social media to blame Marc Casado and Jules Kounde for their part in Barcelona's inability to see off Celta Vigo. Indeed, the Blaugrana were forced to share the spoils in their LaLiga clash at the Balaidos earlier today (November 23).
Barcelona were in good control of the game for most of the match, and the scoreline reflected this. In-form winger Raphinha opened the scoring in the 15th minute, and Robert Lewandowski doubled the lead in the 61st minute. While this might have seemed like a guaranteed win, things went downhill quickly.
Marc Casado picked up his second yellow card in the 82nd minute and received his marching orders. Somehow, the Blaugrana faltered and Celta Vigo smelled blood. Just two minutes later, an abysmal error from Jules Kounde saw Alfon Gonzalez score their first goal to halve the deficit (84'). Within another two minutes, Barca crumbled as Hugo Alvarez equalized (86').
Understandably, the fans are not pleased with Kounde, who took too much time on the ball and gifted Celta Vigo the first goal. They are also angry about Casado, whose red card put Barcelona in the lurch, and they shared comments like these on social media platform X:
"WE DROP ANOTHER 2 POINTS TONIGHT! VERY STUPID FROM CASADO" a fan was very angry.
"We didn't deserve to win this game tbh, as simple as that. It was a pretty horrible performance. Even our goals & chances weren't that convincing. Celta Vigo clearly knew how to exploit Flick's offside trap & high line, and that had a direct effect in Casado's red card too." another fan analysed.
"Casado and kounde are to be blamed to be honest. Casado not only due to red card but his game today in general was poor. Shows how important it is for your dm to play well or you lose complete organization and base of your team. Need lamine to come back asap." this fan slammed both players.
"Casado and Kounde ruined us tonight" another fan added.
"This loss is on you Casado and Kounde. This is absolutely embarrassing," a fan blamed the duo.
"This is all on Kounde and Casado," another agreed.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick unhappy with poor performance
Hansi Flick is not pleased about Barcelona's performance, which saw them throw away two points, as Celta Vigo pounced and punished them successfully.
While they have consolidated their position at the top of the table with one point, Real Madrid have two games in hand. This means Los Blancos could close the gap to just one point if they manage to win their upcoming games.
Hansi Flick slammed his players for playing poorly throughout the match, telling the press (via Football Espana):
“It wasn’t just a bad 10 minutes. We played a really bad game today. We made too many mistakes and lacked confidence with the ball. We made it very easy for them to take a point.”
Barcelona will work to return to winning ways, especially in midweek, when they face Brest at the Lluis Companys in the UEFA Champions League on November 26.
