"Say it again" - Jamie Carragher taunts Thierry Henry as Arsenal legend talks about Ligue1 side's Champions League debut

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher had a verbal fight during a Champions League match coverage on Thursday night (September 19). The Frenchman was tongue-in-cheek while talking about Ligue side Brest, making Carragher laugh.

Brest made their Champions League debut last night in the club’s seventy-four-year history. They started well as they secured a 2-1 victory over Austrian side SK Sturm Graz.

The quartet Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards are known for always teasing each other during their coverage of the Champions League on CBS Sports.

During the coverage of the Thursday fixtures of the UEFA Champions League, presenter Kate Abdo (now Kate Scott) set the stage, saying:

''Brest make their Champions League debut today, going to be a very special game for the club."

Former Arsenal man Theirry Henry then said:

''Just imagine that your first games in Europe are going to be in the Champions League—even me saying that, Brest! Brest!’’

Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, however, poked fun at Henry for pronouncing Brest due to the club’s name’s similarity to a woman’s chest. He told Henry:

''Say it again.’’

The Arsenal man then continued:

''Those guys, man.’’

Jamie Carragher says one Arsenal player stunned him and Thierry Henry against Atalanta

For the second time under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal qualified for the Champions League as they were welcomed by Italian side Atalanta for their opener. The match ended in a goalless stalemate as both sides couldn’t break the deadlock. It wasn’t really the best of nights for the Gunners, especially in the second half where they couldn’t register a shot on goal.

In fact, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men should have run away with all three points on the night, as they were awarded a penalty in the second half. However, David Raya once again proved his worth from the spot as he denied Mateo Retegui with a superb double save, which eventually earned his side a point.

The Spanish goalkeeper guessed Rotegui’s spot kick right in the 51st minute and then denied him a rebound goal-bound effort as he parried the spot kicak right into the path of the Italian forward.

After the match, Jamie admitted that he and his fellow pundits were astounded by Raya’s incredible double save. Speaking on CBS Sports, he said (via TBR Football):

“David, we (Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and Kate Abdo) can’t believe how good that save is; that’s one of the best saves I’ve seen for years.”
