Secret behind Cristiano Ronaldo's goal celebration after going ahead in Al-Nassr win over Al-Ettifaq comes to light
ESPN has shared the secret behind Cristiano Ronaldo's celebration after scoring for Al-Nassr in the 3-0 win over Al-Ettifaq on Friday, September 20. The legendary forward broke the deadlock from the spot in the first half but chose a different celebration for the occasion.
Instead of his iconic "Siu" celebration, the Real Madrid legend held up three fingers and pointed towards his son Cristiano Jr in the stands. Earlier in the day, the superstar's son bagged a brace and the Portuguese legend signaled how many goals they both scored that day.
Ronaldo has been phenomenal for Al-Nassr since he joined the Saudi club in January 2023, scoring 62 goals and providing 17 assists in 69 games across competitions.
He will hope to improve his tally when his side face Al-Hazem in the King's Cup on Monday, September 23.
Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo tipped to pass 1000 career goals
Former Portugal international Jorge Andrade believes Cristiano Ronaldo will surpass 1000 career goals. He cited the legendary forward's ability to take care of his body and prevent injuries as the reasons he would achieve the immense feat.
Andrade shares the same representatives as Ronaldo and is currently the assistant manager at Portuguese side Vitoria Setubal.
Speaking with Stats Perform via Fotmob, Andrade said:
"With Cristiano Ronaldo, nothing is impossible. Since we've watched football, the idea of the 1,000 goals is associated with our great idol, Pele. But nowadays, both Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have managed to overcome other idols, Diego Maradona and Pele."
Andrade concluded:
"They managed to be the highlight of the football game in a short time. It's not surprising Ronaldo can break that record. He looks after his body. He has a history of very few injuries. In terms of the Portuguese national team and the league he is in, he manages his efforts well."
Cristiano Ronaldo recently crossed the 900 career goal mark in Portugal's 2-1 win over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
Despite being 39, the legendary striker is still lethal in front of goal.
