Serie A giants pushing to sign Liverpool player on loan in January: Reports

Reigning Serie A champions Inter Milan are prepared to test the waters with an offer to sign Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa on loan in the January transfer window. The Italian forward has struggled with fitness issues since completing his summer switch to Anfield, limiting his participation.

Italy international Chiesa was frozen out at Juventus by new manager Thiago Motta, as the club decided against extending his contract due to his incessant fitness issues. They accepted an offer of €12 million plus bonuses for the 27-year-old, allowing him to complete a switch to Liverpool late in the summer.

Federico Chiesa has made just one Premier League appearance for Arne Slot's league leaders this season, failing to impress amid an intense competition for places in the side. Tuttosport reports that Inter Milan have studied his situation and are prepared to make the Reds an offer to take him off their hands for six months from January.

Inter Milan are not the only side interested in the pacey forward, with a host of other sides in the Italian top-flight having indicated their interest in signing him. A move away from Anfield could give the forward some months of consistent minutes, which will help boost his fitness ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Liverpool have the duo of Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo ahead of Chiesa in the pecking order on the left wing, a situation that has seen him go without game time. He has appeared once in the league, UEFA Champions League, and Carabao Cup each, playing a total of 78 minutes across three appearances.

Liverpool eyeing move for France U-21 star amid search for attacking cover - Reports

Premier League leaders Liverpool are prepared to make a move to sign France U-21 international Rayan Cherki from Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyonnais in January. L'Equipe have linked the Reds with the 21-year-old Lyon star, who will be made available for a transfer by his club in the winter.

Lyon have been provisionally relegated from Ligue 1 due to their financial issues, leaving them in urgent need of a cash injection from player sales. They avoided selling Cherki in the summer despite interest from the Premier League, but could be forced to sell their prized asset now.

Cherki signed a contract until 2026 with Les Gones in the summer, and the club will expect to receive more than the £12 million they agreed with Fulham before his extension. Liverpool could sign the Frenchman to provide depth for their squad in January.
