"Should have been a comedian" - Fans react as moment involving Andre Onana in Manchester United-Arsenal friendly goes viral
Fans have taken to social media to react to Andre Onana's antics during Manchester United's pre-season friendly against Arsenal. Both Premier League sides are currently on tour in the USA and faced each other at the SoFi Stadium on Saturday, July 27.
Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the 10th minute. However, Gabriel Jesus put the Gunners on equal terms in the 26th minute, and it took a late winner from Gabriel Martinelli (81') to seal the deal.
While the game was already settled, both sides had agreed to a penalty shootout, which Manchester United won. However, goalkeeper Andre Onana showcased some rather funny antics during the shootout. When facing Arsenal defender Gabriel, the Cameroon international constantly tried to distract him by pointing in the direction he should shoot.
Onana kept pointing to Gabriel's right, and the defender responded by putting the ball where the goalkeeper was suggesting as the shot-stopper dived to the left. This saw fans take to social media to react to the goalkeeper's antics:
"I went to bed and missed Onana do this?!?" one fan quipped.
"Onana thought he was playing FIFA," another fan laughed.
"He thinks he’s him", added another.
"This dropped my jaw," a fan laughed.
"Onana should have been a comedian," a user noted.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaks about injuries after Arsenal pre-season friendly
While Manchester United won the penalty shootout against Arsenal, they did receive some bad news on the injury front. Their newest signing, Leny Yoro, was forced off due to injury during the game, as was Rasmus Hojlund.
Manchester United struggled with injuries regularly in the 2023-24 season, and they will be hoping for a change of fortunes this time around.
United manager Erik ten Hag spoke about the two players after the game, stating that precautions had been taken, especially in Yoro's case. He said (via Eurosport):
"We have to wait 24 hours and then we will hopefully know more. We were very careful, especially with Leny. He did only 50% from the sessions. It is disappointing he had to come off but let's be positive and see what comes out."
United had to deal with 45 different injuries last season, more than any other club in the Premier League, according to the BBC (via Eurosport). They will be hoping to fix any major issues in the pre-season, with the coming season set to start in full swing this August.
