"Should do everything they can to sign him" - Emmanuel Petit urges Arsenal to sign Chelsea and Manchester United target
Emmanuel Petit has urged Arsenal to beat Chelsea and Manchester United to the signing of Michael Olise. He claims that the Frenchman is is the perfect player to have along with Bukayo Saka on the right wing.
Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, Petit sent a message to his former club asking them to do 'everything possible' to get the winger. He has also advised the Frenchman to pick Arsenal as his next club and said:
"I watched Michael Olise against Manchester United [in Palace’s 4-0 win on May 6] and I thought he was incredible. Arsenal should do everything they can to sign him over Man United and Chelsea. He did some tricks during the game – and so did Eze – where in my day they would have left the stadium on crutches. I thought they were taking the p**s and so lucky they play in 2024. In seriousness though, I thought Olise and Eze were incredible."
He added:
"If I had to choose I’d have both, but Olise is more what Arsenal need on the right-flank. Having both him and Saka would be very good for Arsenal because they still need that and Olise has improved so much over the last few years. If I’m Olise, I’d choose Arsenal too as I want ambition in my career and my place is not at Crystal Palace anymore."
Reports suggest Olise has a clause of around £60 million in his contract. However, David Ornstein has reported that it is not a straightforward release clause.
Crystal Palace manager wants to keep Chelsea and Arsenal target
Oliver Glasner is aware of interest in his Crystal Palace players and has asked the club to keep hold of them. The manager claimed that it was the duty of the board to keep the squad intact and said on BBC:
"It’s the job of the club to keep all the players. I know they’ll try everything possible. You never know how your squad will look when the next season starts. They’re amazing players, this is an amazing group."
Olise has scored 10 goals and assisted five times in his 18 Premier League matches this season. He has missed a few games this season due to a hamstring injury and did not feature in any of their FA Cup and Carabao Cup games.
