"Should leave for his own sake", "Ten Hag will pay for his crimes" – Fans react as Manchester United star left out of lineup for West Ham United clash
Manchester United supporters have expressed their frustrations about Amad Diallo not starting the Premier League away clash against West Ham United this Sunday (October 27).
The Red Devils are currently in a poor run of form as they have registered just one win in their last seven games across all competitions. They have scored just seven times in eight Premier League outings this season, with Diallo scoring one of them earlier this August.
However, Diallo has been overlooked by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag in the past few weeks. He failed to start any of his club's last three matches across competitions, featuring in just one minute.
With Diallo again named on the substitute bench for the Red Devils' league match at West Ham, a host of fans have voiced their feelings. The supporters have been left bewildered by the manager's selection.
A Manchester United fan urged Diallo to leave, posting on X:
"Amad should leave for his own sake."
Another Red Devils fan put the blame on Ten Hag, writing on X:
"Ten Hag will pay for his crimes against Amad."
A United supporter urged his club to sack Ten Hag, claiming:
"Amad holding bench again, get this manager gone."
Opining on Diallo not starting this Sunday, a supporter wrote:
"What has Amad done wrong bro?"
Commenting on Diallo's future at United, a fan posted on X:
"Amad [will get to] force a January transfer if he gets [a] better agent."
Overall, the 22-year-old Ivory Coast international has netted four goals and laid out three assists in 34 appearances for the Old Trafford side.
Manchester United backed to beat West Ham
In his column for BBC, former Chelsea star Chris Sutton predicted a 2-1 victory for the Red Devils in their visit to London Stadium. He wrote:
"The Hammers need a big improvement, but this game is more about what Manchester United do and whether they turn up. They were excellent in the second half of their win over Brentford last time out, but now they need to back it up, and for 90 minutes. Can they do it? You just never know with Manchester United."
Sutton, who lifted one Premier League title as a player, added:
"They are inconsistent and what doesn't help is that they [played] in Turkey in the Europa League on Thursday, so team selection and tiredness has to come into the equation too. My daughter is doing some maths revision with me at the moment, working out the area of triangles. I can get all of those sums right, but I am always wrong about United, so I am going to let her make this prediction."
The Red Devils are 13th in the league table with 11 points from eight games, while West Ham are 16th with eight points from eight matches.
Erik ten Hag's side have registered eight victories and three losses in their past 11 total meetings against the Hammers, scoring 15 goals.
