Fans on social media have lauded Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal secured a 5-1 win over Poland in the UEFA Nations League on Friday night (November 15). The Al-Nassr superstar scored a brace to take his career tally to 910 goals.

After a goalless first half, Rafael Leao broke the deadlock in the 59th minute after receiving a decent cross from Nuno Mendes.

In the 72nd minute, Jakub Kiwior was penalized for a handball inside the penalty box. Ronaldo converted the penalty, making the scoreline 2-0.

Eight minutes later, Bruno Fernandes released a shot from range as Portugal tripled their lead. Pedro Neto found the back of the net in the 83rd minute, making the scoreline 4-0.

In the 87th minute, Ronaldo scored an outstanding bicycle kick, making the scoreline 5-0. Dominik Marczuk scored a consolation goal for Poland in the 88th minute.

The Al-Nassr ace was brilliant against Poland, netting two goals and registering one assist. The 39-year-old created two chances and won six ground duels. He also won three fouls and registered five shots in the game.

The Portuguese talisman is now the joint top-scorer in the 2024-25 Nations League. He also boasts the most wins in international football's history (132).

Portugal are the current group leaders, having registered 13 points from five games. They are six points ahead of second-placed Croatia.

A Selecao will take on Croatia in their final group game on Monday, November 18. Portugal have booked their place in the quarterfinals of the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League, following their win against Poland.
