"Silk sleepwear, my GOAT" - Fans react hilariously as Erling Haaland and girlfriend Isabel Johansen wear matching pyjamas for Man City's title party
Erling Haaland and his girlfriend Isabel Johansen were spotted at Manchester City's title party wearing matching pyjamas and fans have reacted hilariously.
The Norwegian striker and his partner were celebrating the Cityzens winning the Premier League title. Haaland arrived in a silk pair of pyjamas as did Johansen which befuddled fans.
Manchester City sealed the Premier League title with a 1-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday (May 22). Haaland didn't score in that game but he has been the champions' protagonist throughout the season.
The prolific striker has bagged a remarkable 52 goals in 50 games across competitions. This includes 36 goals in 34 league games and he broke the record for the most goals scored in a single league campaign.
Erling Haaland arrived at the Etihad from Borussia Dortmund last summer for £54 million. That price is turning out to be the bargain of the century. However, he may want to get some fashion tips amid his bizarre decision to wear pyjamas to the title party.
Several of his City teammates were spotted at the party in more suitable attire. These include Phil Foden, Kalvin Phillips and Ruben Dias. The Norwegian striker may get the opportunity to explore his wardrobe a bit more amid more silverware being up for grabs.
Guardiola's men are in the FA Cup final facing Manchester United in the first-ever Manchester derby on June 3. They then face Inter Milan in the Champions League final on June 10.
One fan saluted Haaland for wearing pyjamas to the party, tweeting:
"Haaland with the silk sleepwear my goat."
Here's how Twitter reacted to the hilarious outfit the Norwegian and his girlfriend wore:
Manchester City's Jack Grealish explains his relationship with Erling Haaland after title win
Manchester City winger Jack Grealish's friendship with Erling Haaland has been growing strong throughout the campaign. The duo are regularly seen exchanging banter and joking with one another.
They have both flourished on the pitch this season and been difference-makers for the Cityzens. Grealish spoke about the connection the two share after his side successfully defended their league crown. He told Sky Sports after beating Chelsea:
"We’ve got a great relationship. We come into training a lot together, we live in the same building, I’ve assisted him a few times. When you have a relationship like that off the pitch, on the pitch it makes it that much easier."
Haaland's wit was then on display as he came over and gatecrashed the interview. He simply told Grealish:
"I f***ing love you, you know that?"
A Sky Sports presenter was forced to apologize for Haaland's language but it was indicative of the bond the duo share. Grealish arrived at City from Aston Villa for £100 million in 2021 and the Norweigan joined him at the Etihad last summer.
