“Sometimes I tell him, be careful” - Dani Olmo names ‘tireless’ Barcelona teammate who inspires others to work hard and run more
Dani Olmo has said that Barcelona star Raphinha is tireless and makes everyone else work hard. The Spaniard added that he keeps telling Raphinha to calm down and not run too much.
Speaking to Universo Valdano, Olmo said that Raphinha loves to help the Barcelona teammates and keeps working hard on the pitch. He believes that the former Leeds United star should ease off at times:
"Raphinha seems tireless. Sometimes I tell him, Rapha, be careful, but that pressure, that desire that he has without the ball to recover. That makes the others say 'hey, I can't stand here if the one on my side runs like this, I'll be the same or more'."
Talking about Pedri, Olmo added that he knew they would have a good connection on the pitch. The former RB Leipzig star said that the youngster is the one he linked well with in the squad:
"I knew that with Pedri I was going to connect perfectly. He is one of the players with whom I understand the most today and being able to play with him throughout the year in the same team makes it much easier for me."
Olmo joined Barcelona this summer and was set to be a key part of Hansi Flick's squad after scoring three goals in as many La Liga matches this season. The Barcelona star injured his hamstring in September and has been out of action since then, though.
Dani Olmo heaps praise on Barcelona manager Hansi Flick
Dani Olmo has said that Hansi Flick is a coach who's always available for his players. The Barcelona star said that Flick gives the team confidence and doesn't differentiate between veterans and youngsters in the squad.
He told Universo Valdano:
"He is a very close coach. He is there for everyone, for those who play and those who play less. He is there for whatever you need. It gives us the confidence we need.
"Not only the most veterans, those who have been in the elite for the longest time, but also the youngsters, such as Casado, who is the first year that he is more in the first team and the level he is showing is very high."
Dani Olmo moved to the Blaugrana for a reported €60 million this summer after starring in Spain's EURO 2024 win. He signed a six-year deal and has a reported €500 million release clause.
