"Speed was right" - KSI calls Cristiano Ronaldo the GOAT as Lionel Messi launches new hydration drink
Online media personality KSI has taken to social media to declare his pick in the eternal GOAT debate in football between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. His opinion, however, came after Messi became his business rival.
The streamer/YouTuber took to Instagram to name Ronaldo his pick in the debate after it was announced that Messi was releasing his own hydration beverage, Mas+. Previously, fellow YouTuber IShowSpeed also called Ronaldo the GOAT.
Hours after Messi's announcement, KSI posted on Instagram:
“Speed was right, he is the goat.”
KSI began his hydration beverage - Prime - in January 2022 with fellow online personality Logan Paul in the UK.
KSI is right to be concerned even if playfully so about a behemoth like Lionel Messi entering the market. The Argentina ace's global appeal, reach, and marketability could see him steal market share and reach into untapped markets.
KSI has been a fan of Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo long before his business interests clashed with Lionel Messi. The online media personality, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji is friends with IShowSpeed, another famous YouTuber and avid Ronaldo fan.
How is KSI's Prime doing?
KSI and Logan Paul's hydration beverage Prime took off and was one of the fastest-growing brands in the world. The drink, costing $2.50 a can, was selling for almost $1,500 on resale sites.
However, according to The Grocer, the frenzy surrounding the drink seems to have died down. It has been reported that a can of Prime is selling for as low as 31 pence.
The drink company came under more scrutiny as a class-action lawsuit alleged Prime contains excessive caffeine and “forever chemicals.” But Logan denied those claims on social media.
It remains to be seen how Prime fares with Messi's Mas+ set to hit stores soon. It is also to be noted that Cristiano Ronaldo, whom KSI is a fan of, has a mineral water company named URSU9.
