"Terrible performance," "Barca will destroy vardrid" - Twitter reacts as Real Madrid defeat Braga 2-1 in UCL fixture
Real Madrid pulled off a 2-1 victory against Braga in the Champions League, but Twitter was far from convinced by Los Blancos' performance.
The evening was lit up by the brilliance of young Jude Bellingham, who continued his scorching form this season with yet another sublime goal. A first-half spectacle from Rodrygo (16') gave Madrid an early lead, but it was Bellingham's 61st-minute effort that stole the show with a curling shot.
However, that wasn't enough to shake off the skeptics. Braga's Alvaro Djalo put the Spanish giants to the test, pulling one back in the 63rd minute. He ensured that Madrid fans were on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.
Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo both had near-misses as their goals were ruled out for offside, which increased the debates over Madrid's performance. The Portuguese side were no pushovers, making the Spanish giants sweat for their victory in a game where they dominated but still looked vulnerable.
Carlo Ancelotti might consider his side to be on a roll with three wins in the Champions League so far, but the jury on X hasn't been easily swayed. One fan noted on Twitter:
"Terrible performance"
Another fan warned:
"Barca will destroy Vardrid"
Here is a selection of tweets:
Real Madrid may have bagged the win, but clearly, they have much more to prove, both to fans and critics. In the grander scheme of Group C, the outcome fortifies their position.
They are now sitting pretty with a flawless nine points, leaving them three points clear of second-placed Napoli, who edged past Union Berlin in a 1-0 win. Braga, however, find themselves languishing in the third position, struggling to catch up.
Brahim Diaz considers summer exit amid dwindling game time at Real Madrid
Brahim Diaz is reportedly eyeing an exit from Real Madrid come summer, especially if Carlo Ancelotti remains at the helm. According to a report from SPORT (via The Real Champs), the 24-year-old's aspirations appear to be thwarted, logging only a fraction of field time this season.
He has scored a meagre one goal in nine appearances and a scant 118 minutes of play. The Spaniard's minimal involvement starkly contrasts with the lofty expectations that surrounded his return from a loan spell at AC Milan.
Ironically, the lone goal Brahim has scored this season came in the only match he has started for Los Blancos.
With the likes of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo consistently being favored, it's difficult to envision Brahim finding his way up Ancelotti's depth chart. If the veteran manager persists in sidelining him, Brahim's exit would seem inevitable.
However, everything depends on if Ancelotti stays at Real Madrid next season. He has notably been offered the job of managing Brazil.
