"Thank you Jurgen Klopp" "End of an era" - Fans react as Klopp's tenure as Liverpool manager comes to an end with 2-0 win over Wolves

Liverpool fans on X have emotionally reacted after Jurgen Klopp ended his nine-year tenure as the Reds' boss with a 2-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The two sides faced each other in their Premier League fixture at Anfield on Sunday, May 19.

The Reds started on the front foot. They gained the upper hand in the game after Nelson Semedo recklessly lunged in with his studs up while trying to get the ball of Alexis Mac Allister. Unfortunately for the former, he caught the Argentine midfielder on the leg. While Semedo originally received a yellow card, this was changed to a red after the referee consulted the pitchside monitor following a VAR check.

Liverpool took full advantage of Wolves going down to 10 men, taking the lead through Mac Allister's header in the 34th minute. Jarell Quansah scored his second goal in as many games with a close-range finish six minutes later.

Luis Diaz somehow hit the crossbar, facing an empty net from Cody Gakpo's cross in the 50th minute. Despite boasting an xG of 5.24 and landing 36 shots with 14 being on target, the Reds were unable to score more. They had to settle for a 2-0 win - sending Klopp out on a high.

Taking a look at what Jurgen Klopp achieved at Liverpool

The Anfield faithful was left emotional after Jurgen Klopp delivered his farewell speech following their 2-0 win against Wolves on Sunday. Let's take a quick look at what the German tactician accomplished during his nine years at the club.

Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers in October 2015, a period in time in which the Reds were struggling in the middle of the table without an effective style of play. Over the next few years, Klopp rebuilt and revitalized Liverpool, transforming them into winners with an exciting, attacking, counter-attacking system.

The 56-year-old guided Liverpool to eight major trophies: the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League, 2019-20 Premier League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup, the Carabao Cup (2021-22, 2023-24), the 2021-22 FA Cup, and 2022 FA Community Shield.

Moreover, Klopp managed the Reds in 491 games, winning 299, drawing 109, and losing 83 with a win percentage of 60.9 percent.
