"The absolute best" - Pep Guardiola's daughter reacts on social media as Manchester City lift Premier League title
Pep Guardiola's eldest daughter Maria Guardiola reacted on social media following Manchester City's Premier League triumph.
The Cityzens were crowned champions of England on Saturday, May 20, after Arsenal fell to a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest. Manchester City had the chance to clinch the title on Sunday against Chelsea, but will now play that game knowing the trophy will remain at the Etihad.
After the Sky Blues were crowned Premier League champions once again, Maria Guardiola, daughter of the Cityzens' boss Pep Guardiola reacted on Instagram.
Maria, who works as a professional model and influencer, shared a post from 433's page which congratulated Manchester City for their fifth league title win in six years. She wrote a caption that read, "the absolute best @pep team" followed by two emojis of blue hearts.
Pep Guardiola has now become the first manager to win three consecutive league titles in three different countries. He led Barcelona to three La Liga titles back to back in 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 before guiding Bayern Munich to three successive Bundesliga titles in 2013-14, 2014-15, and 2015-16.
The Spanish manager has now won five Premier League titles in six years during his time at the Etihad. He has won a total of 12 trophies with Manchester City so far and has an opportunity to win two more this season.
The Cityzens are inching closer and closer to a historic treble, a feat only Manchester United have managed to achieve in England so far. His side will take on Inter Milan in the Champions League final and Manchester United in the FA Cup final next month.
Manchester City set to offer new deal to star linked with a move to Barcelona
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Manchester City are set to offer their skipper Ilkay Gundogan a new deal amid links with Barcelona. The Germany international has been strongly rumored to be on his way out of Etihad in recent months with Camp Nou looking like the most likely destination.
However, Barcelona's hopes of landing the five-time Premier League winner could be dashed with the Cityzens set to offer the midfielder a new deal. According to Romano, the Sky Blues are set to hand Gundogan a new deal until June 2024 with an option for a further season, potentially June 2025.
Romano has also insisted that Gundogan has already received an offer from Barcelona but is yet to make up his mind.
Gundogan has been a key player for Manchester City since joining the club in 2016 in a deal worth £20 million. He has already won 12 trophies during his time at the Etihad including five Premier League titles.
