“The cutest birthday boy” - Antonela Roccuzzo shares snaps from relaxing time with Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo shared old images of the Argentine on a family vacation on her Instagram story in celebration of his 37th birthday.
Roccuzzo posted four pictures on her story, three of which were on the beach and one with his son, Mateo Messi.
“The cutest birthday boy,” she wrote in Spanish.
A couple of the images were that of Messi and her posing on the beach, one with Mateo in the Miami stadium and another with Lionel Messi chilling by the beach alone.
Antonela Roccuzzo also shared a heartfelt wish for Lionel Messi on her Instagram alongside a family photo featuring the couple and their three sons.
"Feliz cumple amor @leomessi Te amamos infinito (Happy iBirthday love, @leomessi We love you endlessly)," she wrote.
Messi replied to his wife's wish on the social media platform, thanking her. He also mentioned that he's missing his wife. The comment read:
"Muchas gracias mi vida, los amo y los extraño!!!" (Thank you very much my life, I love you and I miss you!!!)
Messi is currently travelling with his Argentina teammates, while Antonela seems to be back in Miami with the three children. She was not present in Argentina's Copa America opening game against Canada on June 21.
Lionel Messi says Antonela Roccuzzo means "everything" to him
In a recent interview with ESPN Argentina's Martin Arevalo, Messi explained that words will fall short to describe what Antonela Roccuzzo means to him.
"Defining everything she means to me anything I say will fall short. She is very important and she is everything for me," Messi said.
The two were childhood sweethearts and Antonela was reportedly a cousin of one of Messi's Newell's Old Boys teammates, Lucas Scaglia. The two made their relationship public in 2009 although they likely began dating before.
The couple tied the knot in 2017 and have three children together: Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro.
