“The only thing world class about this football club right now is the history” - Paul Scholes makes damning claim about Manchester United

Manchester United Legend Paul Scholes has made a solid claim about the Old Trafford outfit while the Red Devils are suffering in the Premier League as well as the UEFA Champions League.

Former English midfielder Paul Scholes stated that the only thing Manchester United can be proud of currently is their history. The Red Devils are among the most successful clubs in European football. Since the establishment of the Premier League in 1992, United have won a total of 13 titles, which is the highest by any team.

However, the Red Devils are currently going through a hard time. Erik ten Hag's side is currently in the eighth spot in the Premier League. On the other side, they have also suffered consecutive defeats in the UEFA Champions League. Reflecting on the situation, Paul Scholes said (via UtdPlug):

“The only thing world-class about this football club right now is the history.”

The Red Devils defeated Danish Superliga side, Copenhagen, in a close contest on October 24 (Tuesday). Harry Maguire's goal on Christian Eriksen's through ball decided the fate of the match, which was in favor of the Red Devils. Next up, they'll face Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on October 19 (Sunday).

Casemiro regrets joining Manchester United from Real Madrid: Reports

In a recent report by the Catalan publication EL Nacional, it has been revealed that Casemiro has been regretting his move to Manchester United. The reason behind the lament is said to be the institutional instability of the Old Trafford outfit. The Brazilian midfielder joined the Old Trafford outfit from Real Madrid for a transfer fee of £60 million ($70m), last year.

Since joining the Red Devils, he has made a total of 62 appearances for the side and has also recorded 11 goals and seven assists. According to the same report, Manchester United are currently looking forward to signing Benfica's Joao Neves in the next transfer window as a replacement for the 31-year-old.

However, Casemiro's departure from Old Trafford is unlikely because his contract with the Red Devils will expire in 2026. He also missed United's Premier League game against Sheffield United on October 21 (Saturday) due to an ankle injury he suffered against Venezuela.
