"There is not one player who did what he did" - Paul Pogba hails ex-Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo's performances in 2008

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba believes no player could match Cristiano Ronaldo in the year 2008. The Portuguese icon initially joined the Red Devils as a rising talent in the summer of 2003 from Sporting CP. Ronaldo was handed the iconic No. 7 shirt and he soon proceeded to make history with the Premier League giants.

The player is said to have reached the peak of his abilities in the 2007-08 season, where he won the Premier League and the Champions League with Manchester United. Cristiano Ronaldo went on to lift the Ballon d'Or in 2008, kickstarting a legendary rivalry with Lionel Messi.

Speaking to YouTuber IShowSpeed, Pogba insisted that the Portuguese legend was the best in the world that year.

“Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008… there is not one player who did what he did,” Pogba said (via @flemingracool on X).

Ronaldo registered 42 goals and eight assists from 49 games across competitions in the 2007-08 campaign. He finished as the Champions League top-scorer and also won the Premier League Golden Boot.

Ronaldo eventually left Manchester United in the summer of 2009 to complete his dream move to Real Madrid. After conquering LaLiga and then Serie A with Juventus, he returned for a second stint with the Red Devils in 2021.

It was here that he teamed up with Paul Pogba in the 2021-22 campaign. The move didn't pan out as expected. He left the club in December 2022 to join Al-Nassr.
