"There's a lot of pressure on the team, he's definitely one who stepped up" - Wes Brown lavishes praise on Manchester United star
Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has lavished praise on Alejandro Garnacho following his performance in the 2-1 victory over Brentford in the Premier League at the weekend. The Red Devils icon reckoned that the Argentine was decisive with his contributions in both attack and defense during the encounter.
Matchday 8 of the 2024-25 Premier League season saw Manchester United go head-to-head with Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday (October 19). The Red Devils survived an initial scare and came from behind to secure a narrow victory in front of their fans.
Erik ten Hag's men found themselves behind when Ethan Pinnock drew first blood in first half injury time. However, a sensational effort from Alejandro Garnacho (47') shortly after the restart helped restore parity before Rasmus Hojlund found the winner with a cool strike in the 62nd minute.
Speaking after the game, Wes Brown showered praise on the Argentine forward for stepping up and producing a brilliant and decisive performance during the game.
“He was very good today," the former centre-back said on MUTV's Matchday Review. "When he gets the ball in certain positions he has got one thing on his mind, attack the defender and get a shot or a cross. Tremendous."
“There is a lot of pressure on the team, he is definitely one who stepped up."
Brown also praised the Argentine's efforts off the ball, highlighting his energy and willingness to run for the team.
“He has learned to do his defensive work very well, he has a lot of energy and he is willing to run and do it,” the former Manchester United defender added.
Alejandro Garnacho has played 12 games for Manchester United across all competitions so far this season, contributing five goals and three assists. That includes two goals and one assist in the Premier League, one goal in the Community Shield as well as two goals and as many assists in the EFL Cup.
