“They’re great mentors” - Inter Miami's 23-year-old breakout star opens up on learning from Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets

Inter Miami midfielder Yannick Bright has hailed the impact of Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets in the squad. The 23-year-old highlighted that the players learn a lot from the experienced duo, who played together at Barcelona.

Milan-born Bright has established himself as Tata Martino's first-choice defensive midfielder ahead of Busquets. The former Barcelona midfielder has been picked in central defence for the Herons this season.

Speaking to the press, Bright hailed the impact that the former Barcelona quartet of Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez, and Jordi Alba have had on the Inter Miami squad. He said they have been great mentors to him and the whole squad.

"It’s great [training with Messi, Busquets, Suarez, and Alba]. You can learn a lot from them and they’re great mentors who the whole team benefits from," he said (via intermiami.news).

The 23-year-old Italian added that Inter Miami's success is down to team effort and not just due to the four legends of the sport.

"But it’s a team effort, it’s not only these four players, it’s the whole team contributing and hopefully everyone can do their part to help us win whenever we can," he admitted.

Inter Miami are currently top of the Supporters Shield table and have already qualified for the knockouts of the MLS Cup.

"It has been a dream" - David Beckham on Lionel Messi joining Inter Miami

Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham recently recalled his conversation with the Argentinian forward ahead of the latter's move to the United States. Speaking at the Stella Artois event, 'Let's Do Dinner', in New York, Beckham revealed that Lionel Messi wanted to focus on enjoying football and life.

"All he [Lionel Messi] was interested in is a place where his family could come enjoy and have a great life. That was really important for Leo. I mean, from day one, from the moment he put his foot down in Miami, it's been a dream, honestly," Beckham said (via GOAL).

He added that it feLT surreal to him that they were able to sign the 8-time Ballon d'Or winner.

"To say that we have in the MLS, in Miami, the greatest player to play the game, it's just like a dream, you know? It's a dream every time that I'm there. If I go for the whole of the summer, which I went for four weeks this summer, I go into training every single day because, personally, I can't believe we've got Leo. Secondly, I just want to watch what he does. And that's a special thing for us," admitted Beckham.

Messi helped Inter Miami to a historic Leagues Cup triumph within weeks of his arrival and is aiming for Supporters Shield and MLS Cup glory in the current campaign.
