“They’ve given me everything” - Lamine Yamal opens up on his ambitions as a Barcelona player ahead of El Clasico clash with Real Madrid 

Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal wants to become a club legend at Camp Nou. The youngster made this comment in an interview with LaLiga World ahead of this weekend's El Clasico showdown.

Yamal, who rose through the ranks at Barca and is a product of the club's famous La Masia academy, has now established himself as one of the key players in the first team.

Aside from being an indispensable player under head coach Hansi Flick this season, Yamal is also widely considered one of Europe's hottest prospects, judging by his stellar performances.

The 17-year-old forward, however, owes his rise to stardom to Barcelona and has revealed that he would love to spend his whole career at Camp Nou. He said:

“I would like to be remembered in Barça’s history as a legend. Thanks to Barcelona, I am who I am. They’ve given me everything."

Yamal will hope to make a statement when he and his teammates travel to the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend to face arch-rivals Real Madrid in this season's first El Clasico showdown.

The 17-year-old is confident about his side's chances against Madrid on Saturday, October 26, stressing that Barcelona have what it takes to match Carlo Ancelotti's men.

Barca, who recently beat Bayern Munich 4-1 in the UEFA Champions League, would be heading into the El Clasico on the back of a dominant performance. Speaking after the game, while expressing his confidence in his team ahead of the much-anticipated clash with Real Madrid, Yamal said (via Sportingnews):

"It was very important to beat Bayern 4-1 in a very important week. We're doing very well this season, but there's always the worry of what will happen in the Champions League. We're a great team and we've shown that."

On the upcoming El Clasico game, he said:

“Before this match, we were already feeling very confident, we believe we are the best team in the world, and I think we are proving it. We will go with all our strength, and may the best team win.”
