“They will win it next year” - Micah Richards predicts who among Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester City will in 2024/25 Premier League

Micah Richards has backed Arsenal to win the 2024/25 Premier League season. His prediction was echoed by Alan Shearer, although the Newcastle United legend had his doubts.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Richards was quick to predict that the Gunners will win the Premier League next season. He said:

"I think they will win it next year, Arsenal."

While Shearer also claimed the Gunners would battle for the title next season, he stated that it would depend on the transfers.

"It'll hurt them, there's no doubt, because that's the prize that they wanted. But I think they have done really, really well. They are improving. If they can get another couple of players in, particularly a main centre forward, then they will go again next year. They have to somehow use the hurt they are feeling and use it as a positive."

The Gunners missed out on the Premier League title this season by two points. They took the battle until the final day of the season, but Manchester City made it over the line to make it a record four titles in a row.

Mikel Arteta on Arsenal missing out on the Premier League title

Mikel Arteta spoke to the media on the final day of the season after missing out on the Premier League title. He congratulated Manchester City and then admitted that his Arsenal side did their best, but it was just not enough.

Arteta said:

"First of all congratulations to Manchester City for winning the Premier League, it's unbelievable what they have done. Since December we've been on an incredible journey with every performance has been at the highest level we have seen and it still wasn't enough, this is the level. First of all to be really proud of those players, the staff they have done an incredible job, they have pushed every limit, every margin that we could find to try to win this Premier League and unfortunately it was a bit short."

He added:

"We are on the right path, in the right journey. To see the evolution so quickly happening, I haven't seen it before, we are on the right trajectory, now we need to put the teeth and bite into it because we really want more."

Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign four players this summer. Garry Jacobs of The Times has reported that Arteta wants a defender, a central midfielder, a striker and a right-winger before the start of next season.
