“This is on camera” - Chelsea legend Frank Lampard names ex-teammate as best winger in England now
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has named Mo Salah as the best winger in the Premier League at the moment. He recently did a ranking game with ESPN's TikTok account. The former English international was asked to rank between Michael Olise, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer, and Salah. The Egyptian came in fifth on Lampard's blind ranking.
Lampard, however, made it clear that his former Blues teammate is the best in the league. The legendary midfielder added that Salah deserves plaudits for what he has achieved over the past seven years. He said (via The Boot Room):
"Mohamed Salah should be number 1 for what he has achieved over the past few years. Mohamed Salah should be one, this is on camera, Mo, Mo Salah should be one for what he has achieved over the past seven years."
Salah had a lackluster stay with Chelsea in his first stint in English football, He made only 19 appearances for the Blues, scoring twice and providing three assists. Salah and Lampard shared the pitch four times as teammates.
Salah made his return to England in 2017 to join Liverpool. He has since become an English football legend. Salah has so far scored 211 goals and has provided 89 assists in 349 appearances for the Merseysiders.
Paul Scholes addresses the debate between Mohamed Salah and former Chelsea star Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard, during his Premier League stint, was one of the best players in the world. The Belgian changed games with individual brilliance. Fans often wonder whom of Hazard and Salah is better.
Paul Scholes has made an interesting analysis. The Manchester United legend has claimed that Hazard single-handedly changed games. He said on the Ninety Plus Uno podcast (via Sports Brief):
"That's tough because Liverpool had a few that were good at that time, Salah had Mane and Firmino with him. Hazard in that Chelsea team made a total difference to that team."
Eden Hazard has retired from the game. He had a poor spell at Real Madrid after leaving the Blues. However, it's hard to take away from what he did at Stamford Bridge with the west London club.
