Tom Brady extends proposal to Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in message for David Beckham after beating Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham

American Football legend Tom Brady wants to pit Lionel Messi and Inter Miami against his club Birmingham City, according to MARCA. Brady secured a minor stake in the League One club in August 2023.

Birmingham City hosted Wrexham AFC at St. Andrews in the third tier of English football earlier this week (September 16). Wrexham are the third oldest football club in the world, having been founded in 1864. Interestingly, they are co-owned by Hollywood Icon Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds and Brady watched their teams go head to head, but it was the former player who came out on top as Birmingham secured a 3-1 win. At the end of the game, Brady shared a story on social media which caught the eye of the netizens.

"When is the @intermiamifc friendly?" wrote Brady.

Brady even tagged David Beckham, who had actually accompanied him to the game. The Manchester United legend, incidentally, is the founding co-owner of Inter Miami.

Beckham also played a pivotal role in convincing Lionel Messi to join the MLS side in the summer of 2023. The Argentine became a free agent that summer following the expiry of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and was a wanted man.

There was interest in his services from the Middle East, who were apparently willing to make him the richest player alive. Lionel Messi was also wanted in Serie A if reports are to be believed. However, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner ended up joining Inter Miami.

Lionel Messi is arguably one of the greatest players the world has ever seen. While he is in the twilight of his career, the Argentinean remains decisive for Inter Miami and has put the spotlight on the MLS since his move.

The 37-year-old achieved tremendous success with Barcelona and is certainly the club's greatest-ever player. The six-time European Golden Shoe winner has also taken La Albiceleste back to the top on the world stage, as was his destiny. In the process, he has etched his name in gold the nation's folklore.

Messi won the World Cup in 2022 to arguably put an end to the goat debate, and Inter Miami certainly managed a coup by securing his services. He has been in impressive form for the American club since his arrival and has amassed 27 goals and 17 assists in 31 games across competitions. He also helped them win the Leagues Cup last season.

The Florida-based club have opened up a five-point lead at the top of the Eastern Conference table in the MLS after 29 games. Should Tom Brady's plans come together, they could lock horns with Birmingham City soon.
