Toni Kroos namedrops Cristiano Ronaldo and 2 other club legends when asked to name his favorite Real Madrid teammates
Toni Kroos has named Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, and Luka Modric as his three favorite former Real Madrid teammates. The German midfielder hung up his boots after the European Championship 2024, putting an end to his glittering career.
Kroos spent the best years of his career at Real Madrid, having formerly played for Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich. He also enjoyed a successful international career for Germany, winning the FIFA World Cup in 2014.
At both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, the 34-year-old linked up with some of the biggest superstars of the modern game. On being asked to name his three favorite teammates at the Santiago Bernabeu, he named Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, and Luka Modric. He said, as quoted by Madrid Xtra on X:
“Favorite 3 Real Madrid teammates ever? Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Luka Modrić.”
Cristiano Ronaldo etched his name in the Whites' history books during his nine-year stay at the club. He is the all-time top scorer at the Spanish capital club with 450 goals in 438 games and won 15 trophies during his time in Madrid.
Sergio Ramos, on the other hand, is regarded as one of the finest defenders of the modern era. He spent 16 years with Los Blancos and won 22 trophies. Meanwhile, Luka Modric was an exceptional partner to Kroos in the middle of the park. Their midfield pairing is regarded as one of the best in the history of the game.
Kroos' decision to announce his retirement earlier this summer sparked a major surprise. This is because he played a pivotal role behind Los Blancos' excellent season last season. He scored once and provided 10 assists in 48 appearances across competitions as Carlo Ancelotti's side won La Liga, Champions League, and Supercopa de Espana.
