Toni Kroos urges Real Madrid to sign former Champions League winner linked with Liverpool: Reports
Real Madrid have been advised to sign Joshua Kimmich by compatriot Toni Kroos, according to a report by CaughtOffside. The 29-year-old, whose current contract with Bayern Munich will expire in June 2025, has previously been linked with a move to Liverpool.
However, recently retired Kroos, who played for both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, urged the Los Blancos to sign the German midfielder.
Kimmich has grown to be one of the leaders in Bayern's dressing room while his versatility and intuition in the midfield have been crucial for the Bavarians.
He has made 399 appearances across competitions for the German giants, registering 42 goals and 106 assists. Kimmich has helped the club win eight Bundesliga titles and one Champions League among other honors.
The versatile midfielder could be a good addition to Real Madrid, who already boast a star-studded squad with the likes of Vinicius Junior, Hude Bellinghman, and Kylian Mbappe.
Kimmich can also operate at right-back, a position the Spanish champions lack depth following Dani Carvajal's ACL injury, which could keep him on the sidelines for months.
Kimmich has made nine appearances across competitions this season, making two assists.
Who would Real Madrid sign at right-back following Carvajal's injury?
Following Dani Carvajal's injury, Real Madrid's only available right-back option is Lucas Vasquez. The situation might prompt the La Liga giants to sign a full-back in January.
Having been urged by Toni Kroos, Real Madrid might consider signing Joshua Kimmich.
On the other hand, Real Madrid have reportedly shown interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose current contract with Liverpool will expire in June 2025.
Alexander-Arnold has proven to be a productive full-back for the Reds, having scored 19 goals and provided 83 assists in 319 appearances across competitions.
The 26-year-old could also be a long-term successor to Carvajal, who is 32.
