"Turkish Messi", "This kid is unreal" - Fans hail Arda Guler for his performance in Real Madrid's 4-4 draw against Villarreal

Fans took to social media to hail Arda Guler for his performance in Real Madrid's 4-4 draw against Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday, May 19. The youngster bagged a brace in Los Blancos' penultimate league game of the season.

Guler completed 50 out of 55 attempted passes and created one chance during the match. He took four shots, converting two of them. Guler also played three passes into the final third, completed four dribbles, and took five touches in the opposition box.

The Turkish youngster's first goal came in the 14th minute and he completed his brace in first-half stoppage time.

While fans were understandably shocked and displeased with Real Madrid's poor defensive performance, they hailed Arda Guler for providing a masterclass in attack. The 19-year-old has also become the fastest Madrid player to score six La Liga goals. Fans took to social media with comments like these:

"Congratulations. Turkish Messi," one fan said.
"Arda Guler will have a better legacy than Messi," another fan added.
"This kid is unreal man. I get why the scriptwriters had to keep him injured for the first half of the season," another fan hailed Guler.

Arda Guler stars but Real Madrid drop three-goal lead to draw 4-4 with Villarreal

Los Blancos gave up a three-goal advantage against Villarreal on Sunday. While they seemed unstoppable in the first half, the tide turned dramatically in the second, as they stumbled and the Castellon-based club took charge of proceedings.

Arda Guler opened the scoring in the 14th minute and Joselu doubled the lead with 30 minutes on the clock. While Alexander Sorloth pulled one back for the Yellow Submarine (39'), Lucas Vasquez (40') and Guler scored to extend Madrid's lead to three.

However, Sorloth was a man on a mission in the second half, scoring an incredible second-half hat-trick (48', 52', 56') to draw his side level in the exhilarating contest.
