"He’s super talented, his skills are excellent. He has scored many goals at Palace so… I’m happy that he’s joining Bayern."
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund also praised the new signing:
"Michael is quick, tricky, a goal threat and very versatile in attack. His goals and assists stats are already outstanding.
"At the age of 22, Michael is already very advanced, but is also hungry and still has a lot of potential. Fans come to the stadium to see players like Michael Olise."
Olise joined Crystal Palace in 2021 and netted 16 goals and provided 25 assists in 90 appearances across competitions.
He registered 10 goals and six assists in the Premier League last season for the Eagles. He won the Premier League Goal of the Month in January 2023, Crystal Palace Players’ Player of the Season in 2022–23 and Crystal Palace Goal of the Season in 2022–23.
What Michael Olise said on joining Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich announced the signing of Michael Olise on July 7 from Crystal Palace, who received a reported £45 million plus £5m add-ons along with a sell-on clause. The 22-year-old French winger said:
"The talks with FC Bayern were very positive, and I’m very happy to now be playing for such a big club.
"It's a great challenge, and that's exactly what I was looking for. I want to prove myself at this level and play my part in ensuring that we win as many titles as possible with our team in the coming years."
Bayern Munich failed to claim the Bundesliga title in the 2023-24 season, ending an 11-year stranglehold.
