Al-Hilal fans taunted Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo with Lionel Messi chants in the 1-1 Saudi Premier League draw on Friday (November 1).
Ronaldo and Messi are considered by many to be two of the best players to play professional football. The pair have scored well over 800 career goals for club and country and enjoyed a phenomenal rivalry that saw them claim 13 Ballon d'Or awards between them, with Messi winning eight.
In the aforementioned clash, five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo was taunted by the opposing fans, but he responded by giving them a thumbs up as shown in the video below:
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are in the twilight of their legendary careers. The pair are in the final year of their contracts with Al-Nassr and Inter Miami respectively and have scored nine goals in 13 games and 22 times in 23 games respectively this season.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo respond to coaching after retirement
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have confirmed that they will not pursue careers in management after they retire from professional football.
The pair are in the twilight of their careers, aged 37 and 39 respectively. However, Messi and Ronaldo have ruled out the possibility of a career in the dugout, with the Argentine telling 433 via Football London:
"I know that I wouldn't like to be a coach, But I don't know what I can become in the future."
Ronaldo, meanwhile, told his former teammate Rio Ferdinand something similar earlier in the year, via Football London:
"For me will be difficult one day to be a coach, because I don't have passions for this generation. It's difficult especially in football, because they don't take advice by our experience.
"They think they know everything. They think the phones will give you a good education, the TikTok, the Instagram. I have other things to worry about, another chapter of my life that is a business part that I'm excited about."
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are still going strong, as evident in their goals scored this season.
