WATCH: England cricketer Joe Root joins celebrations as Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder sparks wild mood in pub after derby win
England cricketer Joe Root was seen celebrating with Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder after the latter beat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 in the EFL Championship on Sunday, November 10. The two clubs from Sheffield participate in the hotly contested Steel City derby every year.
Sheffield United were given the lead by their striker Tyrese Campbell in the 50th minute, thanks to which they narrowly beat their cross-town rivals. Wednesday's defenders, led by fullback Max Lowe, had done well all game, but were not able to keep a clean sheet. Their attackers, for their part, took 10 shots but none was on target.
England cricketer Root, who is known to be a devoted fan of the Blades, was seen joining in a celebration at a pub, according to a video from SportBible. Manager Wilder was seen standing on a bench, leading a song for the fans, and the 33-year-old batter was seen grinning and cheering in it.
