Messi found Jordi Alba at the back post with a fine pass, and the left-back headed across goal, leaving Suarez with the simple task of tapping home. With the goalkeeper covering, the 37-year-old was put off and could only sky his effort from around two yards out.

Suarez missed two big chances on the night, while creating three chances for his teammates and seeing a shot blocked. He finished the game with no goal contributions despite recording a 1.11 xG (Expected Goals) and 0.82 xA (Expected Assists).

Lionel Messi continued his return to action with another goal for Inter Miami as they were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Charlotte FC in the MLS. The Argentine great brought up a new celebration after his goal, which helped his side pick up a point at home.
In his debut campaign with the Herons, Messi celebrated his goals scored at home by imitating Marvel superheroes for his children, who attended home games only. The 37-year-old had not done that this season, but brought it back for the game against Charlotte with his sons in attendance.
