"We are disappointed, frustrated, angry" – Barcelona star shares thoughts amid recent slump in form
Barcelona star Ferran Torres has revealed that the Blaugrana players are disappointed after crashing to a shock 2-1 La Liga home defeat against UD Las Palmas.
Earlier this Saturday (November 30), Hansi Flick's side slumped to their third league defeat of the ongoing 2024-25 season. Sandro Ramirez opened the scoring for the visitors in the 49th minute before Raphinha levelled things 12 minutes later. However, Fabio Silva netted the vital winner in the 67th minute of the contest.
After the end of the La Liga encounter, Torres was asked to share his honest thoughts on the Blaugrana being on a three-game winless run in the La Liga. He replied (h/t Tribal Football):
"We are disappointed, frustrated, angry. We have not been effective and we have not played well, that is the reality. But we know what kind of team we are and we have to think about the next game. We had a spectacular start, we've had some bad games, but it's not a bad dynamic, it's just a one-off. We're capable of turning it around, we've done it before. It's time to reset and clear our minds."
Torres, who featured in 33 minutes of action on Saturday, concluded:
"In the second half, with the [score tied at 1-1], we were going up, but their second goal just killed us and then we barely played, they wasted time. In the end, we accumulated people in the area, but today it wasn't possible."
Barcelona, who are atop the La Liga table with 34 points from 15 games, relished a whopping 70% possession in their latest contest. They registered 27 shots compared to their opponents' five and completed 546 passes with an accuracy of 88%.
Flick's side will next take on fifth-place RCD Mallorca in a La Liga encounter at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix this Tuesday (December 3).
Barcelona informed about target's demands
According to Spanish website SPORT, Barcelona are interested in signing Jonathan David on a free transfer after the end of the player's contract at LOSC Lille next summer. However, they would have to dish out a combined sum of €80 million on the striker's salary, signing-on fee, and agent commission.
David, 24, is considered one of the best number nine in the Ligue 1. He has helped Lille lift two trophies so far, registering 97 goals and 20 assists in 204 total appearances in the process.
Should the Canadian secure a move to Barcelona in the future, he could prove to be a great signing for them. He would gradually replace Robert Lewandowski, who will turn 37 next year, in the club's starting lineup.
