“We have made them put a new restriction” - Spanish YouTuber opens up on how he forced Real Madrid to establish unique Lionel Messi ban

Spanish YouTuber Grefg recently recalled the time he got his club, Real Madrid, to ban Lionel Messi shirts from the Los Blancos website. According to the internet personality, he went to the club store to purchase a shirt and typed 'Messi' in the space that allowed for customization.

However, the website did not allow for this action and read out a warning saying (via Mirror):

"Apologies, our personalisation policy does not allow the use of this name."

However, the software wasn't quite up to the mark, as Grefg attempted to buy the shirt once again. Only this time, he would type the Argentina captain's name with spaces in the middle (M E S S I), and the same was permitted.

Only once the club store became aware of such a purchase did they seemingly cancel the order and return the amount to Grefg. This resulted in Real Madrid banning all forms of printing Messi on the back of their shirts.

While on a live stream, the YouTuber attempted to type in 'M E S S I' and buy the product once more, and this time he was unsuccessful. Speaking about this, he said:

"You could say that we have made them put a new restriction on the website and now they won't let you order it even if you write M E S S I with spaces."

Messi, of course, represented Real Madrid's arch-rivals Barcelona for over 20 years, during which he scored 672 goals and bagged 303 assists across competitions. He won 10 La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies, among other honors, with the Blaugrana.

Despite having played for Barcelona for several years, Lionel Messi did not shy away from praising Real Madrid, where credit is due. He claimed that Los Blancos are the best team in the world while speaking in early July this year.

The 37-year-old admitted that he personally loves Manchester City's style of play, but the Spanish giants were so good at obtaining results. Speaking to Infobae, Messi said (via beIN Sports):

"The best team, if we have to say, is Real Madrid, because they are the reigning Champions League winner."

Carlo Ancelotti and Co., enjoyed a stellar campaign last season, winning Europe's highest club competition by beating Borussia Dortmund in the final. They also won La Liga, finishing 10 points clear of second-placed Barcelona.
