“We need to get back on track”, I’m with you” - Ian Wright and Roy Keane predict result of Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest
Arsenal legend Ian Wright and Manchester United legend Roy Keane were in agreement as they shared their predictions for the Gunners' upcoming Premier League game against Nottingham Forest. Mikel Arteta's side return to league action with a visit from Forest, who have racked up the same number of points as them.
In recent weeks, Arsenal have been stuck in a rut, failing to win any of their last four league games. The Gunners sit in fourth place on the log, nine points behind leaders Liverpool after their 1-1 draw against Chelsea just before the international break.
Everyone associated with the club acknowledges that they need to turn the corner, starting with their game against Forest, and Ian Wright is one of them. Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, the pundit was on the same page as fellow pundit Roy Keane, as they shared their thoughts on the forthcoming game.
“We need to get back on track. I think we beat them 2-1 or 2-0. Odegaard’s back, it’s all over,” Wright said.
“I’m with you, 2-1 or 2-0 I agree, good shout Wrighty," Keane added.
Arteta's side will have their influential captain Martin Odegaard step on the pitch at the Emirates for the first time since his injury in September. The Norwegian midfielder, who assisted his side's only goal at Chelsea, will hope to inspire them to victory against a high-flying Forest side.
Nottingham Forest have defeated Liverpool and drawn against Chelsea this season, and have a tidy 19 points to their name to sit in fifth place. Arsenal have their work cut out for them if they are to overcome Nuno Espirito Santo's side, particularly with the amount of injuries they are battling this season.
Arsenal star spotted in first-team training ahead of Forest clash
Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney may have a role to play for the side this season as he was spotted in training ahead of the game against Nottingham Forest. Tierney has not played a game for Arsenal since 2023, having spent the entirety of the 2023-24 season on loan at Real Sociedad in Spain.
The Scotland international has been on the fringes at the Emirates, having picked up a hamstring injury back in June, in a Euro 2024 match against Switzerland. He returned to individual training in September before rejoining the group over the international break amid their injury problems.
Tierney is an option for Mikel Arteta at left-back, seeing as Riccardo Calafiori is yet to return to full fitness. The former Celtic man will be keen to impress the manager, having spent a lengthy spell out on the sidelines through injury.
