"We need this reunion" - Al-Nassr fans react as club linked with move to sign Cristiano Ronaldo's former Real Madrid teammate
Al-Nassr fans have reacted on X to reports about the club potetially signing Cristiano Ronaldo's former teammate Sergio Ramos. The Spaniard is currently a free agent and is reportedly in advanced negotiations to reunite with Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League, according to Saudi news outlet @mdrjalnassr (via X).
Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos found great success together at Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018. They played 339 matches together, during which they helped Los Blancos win 15 major trophies, including two LaLiga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies.
Ramos left Real Madrid in 2021 to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a two-year deal. The 38-year-old rejoined Sevilla last season, where he made 37 appearances across all competitions, but departed the club earlier this summer.
The Spaniard would bolster Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr ahead of the 2024-25 season. The Knights of Najd are yet to strengthen their defense. They would most likely require Ramos' experience, with Alex Telles also reportedly linked with an exit from the club.

"Just a player, not a team" - Luis Castro acknowledges Marcelo Brozovic's suspension ahead of Saudi Super Cup final between Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal
Al-Nassr manager Luis Castro has played down Marcelo Brozovic's suspension ahead of their Saudi Super Cup final clash against rivals Al-Hilal on Saturday, August 17.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored one goal and provided one assist as the Knights of Najd cruised to a 2-0 win against Al-Taawoun in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, Brozovic received a red card in stoppage time during the final minutes of the game after VAR intervention.
The Croatian is set to miss the final against Al-Hilal. However, Castro wasn't fazed during the pre-match press conference, as he said (via The Nassr Zone):
“We have a tough match tomorrow, and God willing, we will present an honorable match for Saudi football."
He continued:
“I am known as a coach who does not talk much about refereeing, but there are situations in which you have to defend your team. We have 11 players ready for tomorrow and Brozovic's absence is just a player, not a team."
Castro also spoke about the game:
“I care about my team performing at its best and winning the Super Cup. We always consider Al Hilal a strong competitor and we respect it a lot. I am confident that the officials will perform well tomorrow.”
Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping to win his first official trophy for Al-Nassr on Saturday. Al-Hilal dominated last season, winning the Saudi Pro League title, as well as defeating Al-Nassr in the King Cup of Champions final to win the domestic cup.
