“We’re going to have to keep putting him in the team” - Troy Deeney predicts whether Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool and join Real Madrid

BBC pundit Troy Deeney has predicted that Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool for Real Madrid at the end of the season. He wants the fans to enjoy the last few months of the Englishman delivering for the Reds.

In his Premier League Team of the Week column, Deeney stated that Alexander-Arnold was excellent against West Ham United and Liverpool are reaping rewards for his form. However, he believes that the days are numbered before he makes the move to Real Madrid and wrote:

“We’re going to have to keep putting him in the team when he keeps delivering like this. Liverpool are flying and playing unbelievably well. It looks like he is off to Real Madrid so for the rest of us, enjoy it over these next four or five months because, when he’s playing like he did against West Ham, it’s excellent to see.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold has scored once in 17 league games this season while assisting four times. He has another assist to his name in the UEFA Champions League but has not managed to get involved in the goals.

Trent Alexander-Arnold warned about Real Madrid move by Liverpool legend

Jamie Carragher spoke about Trent Alexander-Arnold earlier this season and stated that the Liverpool start should be careful about his Real Madrid move. He believes that the defender should follow the path of Steven Gerrard and said:

"On the other hand, he could go to Real on the kind of huge wages that free-agency players can command and win Champions League and La Liga titles there. That too will sound pretty good for a footballer – but it is then what comes next. It is a long life after you finish playing. How people treat you in the city from which you come makes a big difference.
"And fans do not care that you made millions more. For them, that salary is irrelevant. On top of that, as a local lad, you are always treated differently. We saw it with Steven Gerrard. Even contemplating leaving for Chelsea on two occasions in his career temporarily damaged his relationship with L'pool fans. Was it fair? It was simply the reality with a passionate, tribal fanbase."

Carragher pointed out that Michael Owen was in a similar situation as Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold. He believes that the move to Real Madrid was bad for the striker's career as he lost everything with the Reds fans and also struggled in his career.
