“We want to go the whole season without losing” - Real Madrid superstar sets down objective for season after 4-1 win over Espanyol

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has stated that the club are aiming to go the entire campaign without a defeat. Los Blancos secured a stunning 4-1 victory over Espanyol at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, September 21, in La Liga.

Rodrygo got on the scoresheet, along with Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Dani Carvajal. The result helped Real Madrid climb up to second in the league, one point behind Barcelona who have a game in hand. Los Blancos have now won four and drawn two of their six league games this season.

The reigning La Liga champions strengthened their attack this summer by securing the services of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick. The French Superstar was a long-term target for Real Madrid and arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent at the end of his contract with Paris Saint-German (PSG).

Mbappe is expected to take Los Blancos to a whole new level this season. While he hasn't been his scintillating self yet, the 25-year-old has still registered six goals and one assist from eight games.

The La Liga giants also have Vinicius Junior in their ranks, who is among the favorites to win the Ballon d'Or this year. The Brazilian has sizzled once again this season, scoring three goals and setting up five more from eight games across competitions.

Youngster Endrick has also started life at the Santiago Bernabeu with a bang, racking up two goals and one assist from six appearances. With Rodrygo Goes and Jude Bellingham also on the books, Real Madrid can be a formidable proposition for any team in the continent.

Speaking after Saturday's game, Rodrygo warned their opponents that Los Blancos are not planning to slow down.

"We want to go the whole season without losing," said Rodrygo.

The reigning La Liga champions lost just one game in the league last season, against Atletico Madrid. Interestingly, they also lost to Los Rojiblancos in the Copa del Rey Round of 16, their only other defeat in the entire campaign.

Barcelona will be the biggest threat to Real Madrid's quest to defend their La Liga title this season. The Catalans have enjoyed a flawless start to the new league campaign under Hansi Flick, winning all five games so far.

However, it would be unwise to rule out Los Blancos so early in the season. The weekend's win has already hinted that the team are close to hitting their peak form. The arrival of Kylian Mbappe will massively improve the La Liga champions, and in Carlo Ancelotti, they also have the ideal man to manage a galaxy of stars.
