"There’s no time for me to make big changes" - Ruud van Nistelrooy on Manchester United's Europa League clash against PAOK
Manchester United interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy shared his thoughts on their upcoming Europa League clash against PAOK. The 48-year-old Dutchman was appointed after Erik ten Hag was dismissed from his role as United manager on October 28.
Speaking about the lineup against the Greek club, Van Nistelrooy said (via @TheUTDHQ on X):
"They are young, they can be better, they will be better. When results come, when confidence comes. I think confidence is such a big thing in football. When confidence is low, and the results are against you, this affects performances and style."
"What is more important is getting the players back to their best. There’s no time for me to make big changes. My relationship with the team is very good. As assistant manager your relationship is even closer than the manager - that helps me a lot now," added the former striker.
Ruud van Nistelrooy also addressed their current opponents in the Europa League clash and said:
"It will not be easy. PAOK are the current Greek champions and they are doing well again this season in a league which is getting stronger. We have a clear aim tonight to come away with all three points, and I have full belief in the players to achieve that."
Manchester United are yet to bag a win in the Europa League this season. Having drawn all three matches in the competition so far, they are 24th on the league table with three points.
