“When Cristiano Ronaldo enters the dressing room he exudes energy as if a saint had entered” - Former Al Nassr director on Portugal star
Former Barcelona midfielder and ex Al Nassr sporting director Goran Vucevic heaped praise on Cristiano Ronaldo in a recent interview. The Croatian talked about Ronaldo's impeccable work ethic and the impact his presence has had on the Al Nassr dressing room.
The former Blaugrana player worked with the Real Madrid legend during his stint in Saudi Arabia. Cristiano Ronaldo left an obvious impact, with Vucevic still singing his praises after he ended his association with the Saudi club.
The former Culer said (via @X99i3 on X):
"Cristiano Ronaldo wants to be the best at everything, and he speaks about it openly. In his attempt to be the best, CR7 trains from morning to evening every day. When Cristiano Ronaldo enters the dressing room he exudes energy as if a saint had entered."
This is not the first time Vucevic has waxed lyrical about Ronaldo, with the former Al-Nassr sporting director having previously stated:
"Cristiano Ronaldo is the father of the Saudi League because he opened the door for other players until the league became very important in the whole world."
Despite Vucevic's obvious admiration for the legendary Portuguese forward, he ended his time with the Saudi Pro-League side in December. The former player had worked with the side for two years from 2021 to 2023.
Al-Nassr set to face Al Khaleej test without Cristiano Ronaldo
Al-Nassr are set to face another test in the Saudi Pro-League without the services of talismanic forward Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star will be serving the last game of his two-match ban for elbowing an opponent during his side's loss to Al Hilal.
Ronaldo has been the undisputed star for his side since he joined the Saudi Pro League club, with his goals and personality lifting the club. However, they secured a 3-1 win in his absence against Al Feiha in their previous league encounter, thanks to a Sadio Mane brace.
Al-Nassr will hope he can sufficiently deputize for the suspended Cristiano Ronaldo against Al-Khaleej as well.
Ronaldo will be back to face the same side in the King's Cup semifinals on May 1 and will hope to mark his return with a goal. Al-Nassr look in danger of ending the season without any silverware as they trail Al Hilal in the league and have been knocked out of the AFC Champions League.
