When will Cristiano Ronaldo join Al-Nassr's pre-season training camp? Journalist provides update

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to join Al-Nassr's pre-season training camp in Marbella, Spain at the start of August, according to sports journalist Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Ateeq. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is currently on vacation with his family following Portugal's disappointing quarter-final exit at Euro 2024.

Ronaldo didn't feature in Al-Nassr's first two pre-season friendlies as they were held to back-to-back 1-1 draws against Louletano DC and SC Farense.

The Knights of Najd will have to wait a while longer for the return of their skipper as Al-Ateeq provided an update on Cristiano Ronaldo on X. He tweeted (via @abrahim555 h/t @TheNassrZone):

"Ronaldo will join the Al-Nassr camp in its second phase scheduled in Marbella, Spain, early next August, and he will return with the squad to Riyadh on the eighth of the same month."

As per his planned return date, Cristiano Ronaldo is set to miss the Knight of Najd's next three pre-season friendlies against Portimonense (July 24), Porto (July 28), and Lusitano 1911 (July 30).

However, the Portugal ace is expected to feature for Al-Nassr as they kick off their 2024-25 campaign on August 14 in a Saudi Super Cup semi-final showdown against Al-Taawoun.

Cristiano Ronaldo's teammate Aymeric Laporte requested Al-Nassr to be sold this summer: Reports

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Aymeric Laporte asked Al-Nassr to sanction his sale during the summer transfer window. While the Knights of Najd are reportedly open to his departure, they would only be willing to sell for the right offer.

Laporte opted to leave Manchester City to join Al-Nassr last August for a reported transfer fee of £23.6 million. Despite having two more years left on his contract, the 30-year-old is reportedly unhappy in the Saudi Pro League and would prefer to return to LaLiga.

The Spain international recently helped his nation secure Euro 2024 glory, impressing in La Roja's defense. He also made 39 appearances for the SPL outfit last season, scoring four goals.

Ronaldo and Co. reportedly received an offer of $14 million from a Spanish club to sign Aymeric Laporte, however, this was swiftly rejected by Al-Alami. It remains to be seen if any club will be able to match their valuation of Laporte for the remainder of the transfer window.
