"Will leave his mark on Real Madrid" - Los Blancos star backs Kylian Mbappe to shine
Real Madrid star Fede Valverde believes Kylian Mbappe will be successful at the club. The Frenchman arrived at Los Blancos on a free transfer after seven seasons at PSG.
During a press conference on Tuesday (August 13), Valverde has tipped Mbappe to leave a 'mark' on the club. He said (as per Madrid Xtra):
“I’m sure that Mbappe will leave his mark on Real Madrid."
Mbappe joined Los Blancos after his Euro 2024 campaign with France ended with a 2-1 loss to eventual winners Spain in the semi-final. The Frenchman reportedly signed a five-year-deal with the club, with a salary of €15 million per season.
He's also set to receive a €150 million signing bonus paid over five years and keep a part of his image right earnings as well. Mbappe is set to sport the No 9 shirt at Real Madrid, which hasn't been worn by anybody since the departute of Karim Benzema last summer.
Kylian Mbappe set to make Real Madrid debut in UEFA Super Cup
Kylian Mbappe is reportedly set to make his debut for Real Madrid on Wedneday (August 14) in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta. The Los Blancos squad for the match includes the Frenchman, with Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Endrick and Brahim Diaz being the other attackers.
According to Forbes, manager Carlo Ancelotti will start Vinicius, Mbappe and Rodrygo up front. Mbappe is expected to play as a centre-forward, with Vini on the left and Rodrygo on the right.
Shortly after Mbappe had joined the Spanish giants, Ancelotti said (via GOAL) that the Frenchman would be able to adjust to the team quickly and praised him for his attitude and composure.
"First of all, he is going to bring his quality as well as his composure, attitude and dedication. He is going to have to adapt for this team as everyone has had to. We are very happy he is here because he has great qualities and – I'm sure, given his personality – he will adjust quickly." Carlo Ancelotti said.
The former Paris St-Germain star was presented to 80,000 fans at the Santiago Bernabeu as a new Real Madrid player on July 16 but didn't join the team in the United States for their pre-season tour due to his deep run at Euro 2024.
He reportedly started training with the team last week. Vinicius took to X this week on August 12 to share an image from their training, featuring Jude Bellingham and Mbappe.
