Will Real Madrid sign more players this summer? Carlo Ancelotti gives definitive answer

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Los Blancos' summer activity has ended with over two weeks still left in the window.

Last month, the defending La Liga champions added two attackers to their ranks. While they roped in Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer, they snapped up Endrick in a deal worth up to €72 million from Palmeiras.

Real Madrid, who won the UEFA Super Cup after beating Atalanta 2-0 on Wednesday, were linked with Leny Yoro earlier this summer. But, Manchester United won the race as they finalised a €70 million deal.

During a recent presser, Ancelotti was asked whether Real Madrid will snap up any more players. He responded (h/t X/@Fabrizio Romano):

"No, our market is closed. I will not ask for any other signing."

So far this summer, Los Blancos have parted ways with a host of first-team players. They have began their ongoing 2024-25 season without the likes of Toni Kroos, Nacho Fernandez, Joselu, and Rafa Marin.

Carlo Ancelotti comments on Real Madrid's performance in latest UEFA Super Cup win

Earlier this Wednesday (August 14), Real Madrid won the UEFA Super Cup for a record sixth time. Federico Valverde opened the scoring in the 59th minute before Kylian Mbappe's debut goal in the 68th minute.

After the end of the encounter in Warsaw, Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti opined on his team's display. He said (h/t Managing Madrid):

"We suffered a bit in the first half [of the contest], because Atalanta pressed hard and played very well defensively. In the second half, the game opened up a bit, they showed signs of fatigue and we had more space. In the first half, they won more duels than us and we had more difficulties. With space, Rodrygo, Vinicius [Junior], and Mbappe are very dangerous."

Sharing his thoughts on his midfielders' performances, Ancelotti added:

"[Aurelien] Tchouameni, Valverde, and [Jude] Bellingham played a good game. There were a lot of duels and we thought we would play more vertically and it didn't work out well in the first half. But in the second half, with more space, we had more options. I think all three played very well defensively, giving balance at the back."

Real Madrid, who won the 2023-24 La Liga title with 95 points, will start the new league campaign on Sunday (August 18). Ancelotti's outfit will take on RCD Mallorca in a La Liga game at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.
