“You can’t touch it until you’ve won it” - Carragher comments on Jhon Duran jokingly trying to lift Champions League trophy before win vs Bayern

Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran was spotted attempting to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy placed in the tunnel before their match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday night (October 2). Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher joked about the situation saying that a player cannot lift the coveted trophy until they have won it.

Carragher, who pundits Champions League coverage with CBS Sports, commented on Aston Villa's game against Bayern Munich. Surprisingly, Villa beat Bayern 1-0, courtesy of a free-kick from Duran, who appears to be in great form.

Duran, has now scored five goals from the bench for Villa, spanning across 303 minutes, with four of them being netted as winners, including the strike against Bayern Munich.

Carragher has won the trophy previously with Liverpool when the Reds beat AC Milan in 2005 in Istanbul on penalties. As for Aston Villa, they maintained a 100 percent record in this year's tournament, while Bayern suffered their first defeat of the season under new head coach Vincent Kompany.

Liverpool win, Real Madrid lose, drama in Juventus-RB Leipzig game: What happened in other Champions League games on Wednesday night?

Liverpool were the second English side playing on Wednesday night in the Champions League and like Aston Villa, they maintained their 100 percent record in the competition this season. The Reds beat Bologna 2-0, with Mohamed Salah scoring and assisting one goal each.

Real Madrid were beaten 1-0 by LOSC Lille. Los Blancos are struggling to find their rhythm from last season (where they won La Liga and the Champions League).

Juventus and RB Leipzig played out possibly the most exciting contest of the night, with the Italian side going 1-0 down in the first half. They restored parity in the 50th minute before Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio was shown a red card for a handball outside the box.

Leipzig went on to take the lead in the 65th minute through a second strike from Benjamin Sesko before Dusan Vlahovic scored again to make it 2-2. Late drama awaited as 10-men Juventus managed to take the lead in the 82nd minute courtesy of a goal from Franciso Conceicao, with the game ending 3-2 in favor of the Serie A giants.
